Paper Sizes Chart

About this site

Paper Sizes Chart lists the dimensions of the standard paper formats used around the world: the ISO 216 A and B series, the ISO 269 C series for envelopes, the traditional North American sizes such as Letter and Legal, the ANSI and architectural drawing sizes, and the ISO/IEC 7810 card formats.

Millimetre sizes for the ISO series are the official rounded values. North American sizes are defined in inches, and their millimetre values are calculated from those inches (1 inch = 25.4 mm). Pixel dimensions, sheet weights and scaling percentages are calculated from the physical size and the resolution, weight or paper size you choose, and are rounded for display.

To avoid mistakes, every number on this site is calculated from the defined size rather than typed in by hand, and the sizes were checked against an independent reference table.

Each size page explains where the size is used and how it relates to its neighbours, and the guides cover practical questions such as scaling a document between paper sizes, paper weight in gsm, print margins and bleed. The paper size converter lets you choose any size and resolution.
